Give Kids a Smile, All Year Long

As many of you may know, February is “Give Kids a Smile Month.” At Lakeshore Family Dentist, we have done our fair share of ensuring that every child we see leaves with a big, healthy smile—and we will continue to do so all year long. For us, great smiles aren’t seasonal, and extraordinary dentistry shouldn’t just be an “annual event.” We want your child’s smile to stay youthful, and their teeth to remain straight and healthy for years to come. This can only be accomplished with your participation.

Baby teeth are extremely important – they set the foundation for the kind of teeth a kid will have as an adult, and it’s important that they are maintained from the get-go. We understand that sometimes, going to a dentist is not an option. However, no matter your situation, we encourage you to inspire your entire family to keep up a proper oral routine – to help us and lead by example year-round. Healthy teeth don’t have to be expensive – it only takes a toothbrush, some toothpaste and floss to fight off the plaque, bacteria and other unwanted particles that cling to and eat away our teeth. If you have your child follow a daily regime of brush, floss, rinse, there will be no reason for them to ever need serious dental work done.

Maintaining your child’s teeth is easy and relatively inexpensive - the toothbrush, toothpaste and floss will only cost you about $5. If you get them into the habit of brushing and flossing twice a day, they will reap the full benefits of—and appreciate—proper healthcare maintenance at a young age. And the best part is: The strong, healthy teeth your child will grow up with are priceless.
