Give YOUR Kid a Smile Day, At Lakeshore Family Dentistry

This February 6th and 7th is the 13th annual Give a Kid a Smile day across the state of Minnesota, and up to 6,000 children will receive the dental care and treatment they need, for free. Over 3,000 volunteers will donate their time to make this possible. At Lakeshore Family Dentistry, we believe in helping out and giving back where we can, which is why our team will be volunteering their time that weekend along with thousands of others.

Despite the fact that Minnesota dentists have provided dental care to more than 60,000 young children and donated services valued at more than $15 million dollars, challenges remain. Dental disease remains one of the most prevalent childhood diseases, ranking even above asthma. Tooth decay is the most chronic childhood disease, with 50% of U.S. first graders affected. While we try to do all that we can to reduce these numbers, much of the responsibility lies on the parents to pick up the phone and make the phone call—whether to our office or to another Minnesota dentist’s office.

On Friday, February 5th, our office will be open to those in need of dental care. Patients should be 18 years or younger. We will provide everything from a routine exam and x-ray to a thorough cleaning. If necessary, we will provide restorative treatments and possibly more comprehensive extractions.

If your child is in need of dental care but you just don’t have the resources to take him or her bi-annually, give our office a call at 651-429-3348 to reserve your timeslot today.
